Founder, SAMA: The Calm Mind Studio

Lakshmi founded SAMA with the intention of creating a space people feel drawn to one they want to return to after every class.

Her vision is simple: a space where movement meets mindfulness.

​

Having practiced yoga since childhood, Lakshmi’s journey began on the move, literally. With her father in the military, her family traveled across the country, and she was often found unrolling her mat wherever they went, flowing through SuryaNamaskars under changing skies. This lifelong connection to yoga has shaped her grounded yet expansive approach.

​

Through intentionally designed sessions, she nurtures a space that supports both body and mind. Each SAMA class includes a Calm Mind Practice, an invitation to slow down, tune in & move with purpose.

Mohanraj is a seasoned yogi and Pilates instructor with a deep passion for guiding others on their inward journey. With over a decade of experience in yoga and a year in Pilates, he has impacted more than 3,000 individuals—nurturing a journey of mutual growth and presence.

 

A former software developer, he brings technical precision to his holistic practice, helping people reconnect with themselves and unlock their full potential.

At SAMA, he leads breathwork, meditation, and reformer Pilates-holding space for balance, calm, and quiet strength.

​

Abhishek Tripathi

Contemporary Yoga Lead. Poet. Biker

Abhishek is empathetic, grounded & a true believer in the philosophy of yoga. A certified Yoga Wellness Instructor (Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India), he holds advanced training in Aerial Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa &

Multi-Style Yoga.

His movement style blends the depth of traditional yoga with the expressive fluidity of Primal Kinesics and Yoga Dance Flow,  bringing natural, intuitive motion to the mat.

​

Abhishek is a poet and open-mic performer,

a rider at heart & someone who brings calm, curiosity, and creativity into every space he steps into on and off the mat.

​

At Sama, he leads Classical Yoga, Yoga Dance Flow, Aerial Yoga, and Mindful Strength Training - blending tradition with innovation to help students move with awareness and ease.

​

BIPIN MATHEW

Pilates, Yoga, & Strength Coach.

Basketball Player

Bipin’s journey into  fitness began professionally in 2019, after completing his

3-year MSc in Yoga.

 

A sports enthusiast since high school, he has over a decade of experience in basketball and strength training, and spent 6 years training under a coach from the Sports Authority of India.

​

For the past 6 years, he’s been guiding others through a dynamic blend of Hatha Yoga, meditation, Aerial Fitness, Strength Training, and Pilates.

​

At SAMA, he brings this multi-format experience into every class - balancing structure with exploration.

​

Outside the studio, Bipin finds joy in adventure, whether it’s hiking through trails, shooting hoops on the court, or riding his bike. Yet, it’s meditation that remains his core practice and compass.

​

P.S - You’ll always find him with his notebook, mindfully tracking sessions, ideas and the little details that make a big difference.

SHIVANI

Pilates, Yoga, Pre and Post Natal Wellness Trainer

Shivani has been teaching yoga for over 7 years, with her journey beginning at a young age in Rishikesh, the heart of yoga.

 

Growing up surrounded by the practice, she was naturally drawn to its ability to calm the mind, strengthen the body, and create a deep sense of inner connection.

 

What started as a personal practice soon became a transformative path, both physically and mentally. Since then, she has devoted her life to studying and sharing the power of yoga with others.

​

At SAMA, she leads Yoga, Mat & Wall Pilates.  

Outside the studio, Shivani finds joy in spending time in nature, exploring new places, trying different cuisines, and constantly learning something new.

​

P.S. - She brings the same quiet presence to every class that she brings to her own practice - calm, kind, and fully present.

GARGI

Aerial Yoga and Meditation Instructor

Gargi Varma is a passionate yogi and holistic healer, dedicated to guiding individuals toward balance and inner peace through movement, breath, and energy work. Her journey began in 2019, driven by a deep curiosity about the mind and a desire to reconnect with her inner self.

She holds 100-hour, 200-hour, and 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training certifications, with advanced training in Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga. Her teaching goes beyond the physical creating a safe, nurturing space for self-discovery and healing.

At Sama, Gargi leads Classical Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra  helping students slow down, tune in, and reconnect with their truest selves.

Pratyusha

Yoga Instructor

Pratyusha began her yoga journey eight years ago, never imagining it would one day lead her to teaching. She is an E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) with 200 hours of certification and a wealth of teaching experience.

At Sama, she leads Classical Cardio Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Breathwork - a gentle blend of Hatha and Vinyasa, infused with restorative, yin, and pranayama elements. Her classes are warm and grounding, encouraging students to move with awareness and connect deeply with their breath and body.

Off the mat, she finds inspiration in nature, devotional music, meditation, and sacred texts all of which shape her soulful, grounded approach to teaching.

P.S - She never planned to be a yoga teacher but sometimes the path finds you before you find it.
