About the event

Join us for a workshop focused on the art of hand balancing through the variations of Kakasana and other advanced asanas. Led by experienced yoga instructor Mohanraj, this workshop is designed for practitioners of all levels seeking to enhance their arm and core strength while delving into the intricacies of balancing on hands.

What to expect:

Ÿ Learn the fundamentals of arm strengthening and core activation essential for hand balancing.

Ÿ Explore various Kakasana variations, including Bakasana and other challenging asanas, with detailed step-by-step guidance.

Ÿ Discover how to use props effectively

Ÿ to support and deepen their practice, allowing for safe and gradual progression.

Ÿ Receive personalized adjustments and tips to overcome common challenges encountered in hand balancing poses.

Ÿ Cultivate mindfulness and body awareness through breath-centered movement and focused concentration.

Contraindications:

Ÿ Wrist injuries or conditions: Individuals with wrist injuries, such as sprains or carpal tunnel syndrome, should avoid putting excessive weight on their hands in hand balancing poses, as it could exacerbate their condition.

Ÿ Shoulder injuries: Those with shoulder

Ÿ injuries, such as rotator cuff tears or impingement syndrome, should be cautious when practicing hand balancing, as it can put strain on the shoulders and potentially worsen the injury.

Ÿ High blood pressure: Hand balancing poses can increase blood pressure temporarily due to the inversion of the body. Individuals with uncontrolled high blood pressure should consult with their healthcare provider before attempting these poses.

Ÿ Pregnancy: Pregnant individuals should avoid strenuous physical activity, including hand balancing poses, especially during the later stages of pregnancy. These poses can put pressure on the abdomen and may not be suitable for expectant mothers.

Ÿ Recent surgery: Individuals who have undergone recent surgery, particularly on the wrists, shoulders, or abdomen, should avoid hand balancing poses until they have fully recovered and received clearance from their healthcare provider.

Ÿ Spinal issues: Individuals with spinal conditions such as herniated discs, spinal stenosis, or osteoporosis should approach hand balancing poses with caution and may need to modify or avoid certain poses altogether to prevent exacerbating their condition.

It's essential for participants to communicate any existing health concerns or injuries with the instructor before the workshop begins. Additionally, participants should listen to their bodies, modify poses as needed, and avoid pushing themselves beyond their limits to prevent injury. Always consult with a healthcare provider if there are any concerns about participating in physical activities like hand balancing.
