Living with diabetes can be stressful and challenging. Multiple research projects have concluded on the effectiveness of a mind-body approach of Yoga in improving the functioning of internal organs, dietary practices, improvement in metabolic activity amongst others.*
Our short-term program DiaYoga is designed to help individuals manage and improve the body's response to Type 2 diabetes through a mind-body approach.
The 24 day program is designed keeping in mind the busy daily schedules and the ability of individuals to commit to long-term interventions. The classes happen 3 times a week (2 weekday+1 weekend) and will help you learn mind-body Yoga based routine that can be safely practised after the program is complete. Led by experienced Instructors and conducted in a physical space that promotes calm, DiaYoga is a must have intervention for anyone looking to avoid health risks of Type 2 diabetes.

The protocols and techniques taught in class are geared towards making our members self-reliant in managing diabetes after the program has ended. Those looking to continue their routine are welcome to join our daily classes.

Holistic Approach
Chronic psychological stress can result in insulin resistance, hypertension, and an increased risk of cardiovascular events. Yoga effectively reduces stress, thereby helping diabetes control. (2)Our program includes meditation and mindfulness practices that can help you feel more centered, present, and in control.

Asana, breath-work, and meditation were found to be beneficial in improving dietary practices and medication adherence. (3) Through continuous practice of all techniques, you can become more mindful of your lifestyle choices and day-to-day habits, leading to a much needed reset for your body.
Instructors
Ms. Meghna Varma
Meghna has over 8 years of teaching experience in multiple styles of Yoga. She has completed her M.Sc. in Yoga from S-VYASA Yoga University. Her classes are known for leaving learners with perspectives drawn from her rich knowledge and practice of the philosophy of Yoga. With SAMA, she is delving into sharing the inner journey of Yoga, its internalization and meditation practices.
Mr. Mohanraj A.
Mohanraj is a dedicated yoga teacher with a deep-rooted passion for the traditional form of Hatha Yoga. Having undergone rigorous training at the esteemed Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers, Mohanraj's journey in the world of yoga commenced in 2010. He has multiple advanced teacher training and intensive practitioner certifications. He has also taught at the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres in New Delhi for over 5 years.

1. I am pre-diabetic. Is this program good for me?
Yes, if you are pre-diabetic, this is the right time to start the program. You can prevent the onset of Type 2 Diabetes through regular practice of the asanas, breath-work and other techniques learned in the program combined with other lifestyle changes as recommended by a healthcare professional.

2. Incase I miss a class, how will I catch up?
We understand that personal/work exigencies can prevent you from attending a class at times. Although a catch- up class is not possible, do speak with your Instructor in advance so they can help you with the best alternative to learn what you missed.
